May is the month of "Freshness" at Self Portrait Challenge.
While in Portland, I had a couple opportunities to eat at the Macaroni Grill. The first time we were seated indoors, and although the food was great, eating outside had enough appeal to bring me back again for another try at a sidewalk table.
The second time proved to be a charm. My party and I scored a great outdoor table and I ordered a deliciously fresh salad.
While eating I decided it would be a good shot for May's theme, but for more reasons than one. I noticed after snapping my shot, that my fingernail polish exemplifies the opposite of fresh! I needed to repaint them so badly, I was almost embarrassed to show this picture. Almost. :o)

Amy Butler: inspiring me since the beginning of my sewing career; inspiring me still.
I know I must sound like an star struck fan, the truth, however, is that this beautiful woman has inspired me from the moment I saw her Gypsy Caravan line of fabric. My girls have been dressed in her prints from the time they arrived on this earth to this very day! I feel so privileged to have met her.
Amy's fabrics have been a staple on my shelves and in my designs since day one. Her hard work and creativity inspired so many outfits and honestly, played a HUGE role in Sweet Feet Boutique's existence. I still sew many things for the girls with Amy Butler fabric, and I am clamoring to purchase more after seeing peeks at the International Quilt Market in Portland, OR. I am certain that Miss Masyn (who is now much older than the picture below) will require pockets, but that will be nice because I want to use some of each print... the colorways are gorgeous!
I never expected to get so emotional when I met her, but I couldn't hold back tears, it was so overwhelming. This woman is amazing and it exudes from her like light pouring out from her eyes and dimples. Everything about her inspires me and I hope to one day know her better. She is absolutely bursting with kindness, class, creativity, and passion. I am so grateful for the trail she has been blazing and I can't wait to see what she will create next!
Thank you Amy, for being so patient and kind with an awestruck girl like me, you are the dearest for taking time to talk with me and let me snap endless photos! Many hugs and much admiration~

Today is Self Portrait Tuesday. Unlike last week, I actually do feel fresh right now. Today I had my hair colored, and that always goes a LONG way with making me feel new and fresh.
I went a bit darker (aiming for a Kate Beckinsale color as she appears on the cover of Allure last month). I really am pleased with the outcome.
Now I admit, I feel a bit more prepared for my upcoming trip!

Today a suspicion has been confirmed.
My nose always leads me to the celebrity fragrances. Not the ones that seem all fancy and classy, I mean the ones you see and go "hmm...now they have a perfume too?!"
Yes, I love those.
Not purposefully. It's just how I seem to lean. Given two perfumes and a blindfold, I can guarantee I would choose the one made by a teen celeb over one, say by an elite designer label.
As I have purchased over the past few years... Hilary Duff, Paris Hilton, and Gwen Stefanie, I thought something was amiss with my taste. Today though, as I picked up a black bottle from the checkout counter of Sephora, I found a new scentl I love. Curious as to what it was, I then looked at the bottle.... the name scrawled across the front of the black bottle... Sean John.
So there you have it. My little scent-confession. Now I am off to scour the internet for the best price and hopefully score a bottle of this luscious new fragrance.
